Rookie quarterbacks always attract plenty of attention. After six were taken in the first 12 picks of the 2024 NFL Draft, there will be plenty of young signal-callers creating headlines in the 2024 Fantasy football rookie quarterback rankings. However, relying on 2024 Fantasy football rookie quarterbacks can be a dicey proposition. For every C.J. Stroud you see, there’s Bryce Young, Sam Darnold or Zach Wilson. So which rookie Fantasy football 2024 quarterbacks might be able to make an impact this season and which should you steer clear of?
The Falcons shocked the world when they spent the No. 8 overall pick on Michael Penix Jr. despite giving veteran QB Kirk Cousins $180 million this offseason. You should probably avoid Penix in any format other than dynasty or the deepest of keeper leagues, but where should every quarterback be in the 2024 Fantasy football rankings? If you’re looking for 2024 Fantasy football advice, be sure to check out the 2024 Fantasy football cheat sheets from the proven computer model at SportsLine.
Last year, the model accurately predicted that Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs would carry significantly more value than expected during his rookie season. The result: Gibbs rushed for 945 yards and 10 touchdowns while also catching 52 passes for 316 yards and a score. Gibbs was coming off the board in the middle of the fourth round on average but finished as a top-10 running back in CBS Sports PPR leagues.
The same model has a proven track record providing Fantasy football tips, identifying A.J. Brown as a sleeper in 2020 and nailing Jonathan Taylor’s monstrous season in 2021. Additionally, it’s called past Fantasy football sleepers like Derrick Henry in 2019, Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara in 2018, and Davante Adams in 2017. Anybody who banked on players like those made a run at their league title.
The model is powered by the same people who generated projections for all three major Fantasy sites, and it beat human experts last season when there was a big difference in ranking. The projections update multiple times daily, so you’re always getting the best Fantasy football advice.

2024 Caleb Williams Fantasy football projection
The model has locked in its 2024 Fantasy football prediction for Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has flashed the explosiveness and playmaking ability during limited preseason action that led to him being one of the most hyped quarterback prospects to enter the NFL in the last decade. Williams won’t play in the Bears’ preseason finale, but he showed enough promise in his two appearances to be considered the betting favorite to win this year’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Williams will have to adjust to playing in the cold weather that comes with a career in Chicago. He spent the bulk of his college career playing in warm weather climates, and will now have to regularly deal with wind and below-freezing temperatures. Williams currently has an ADP of 103.6 and is going off the board in ninth round on average in CBS Sports fantasy football drafts. See the full Fantasy football QB rankings here.
2024 Jayden Daniels Fantasy football projection
The model has also released its projection for Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of LSU. Daniels completed 72.2% of his passes for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns with four interceptions while also rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 more scores on the ground.
New Commanders head coach Dan Quinn didn’t guarantee Daniels the starting role but he was officially named the starter last week after convincingly winning a quarterback battle with veteran Marcus Mariota. He’s flashed a lively arm and impressive athleticism throughout the preseason but he’ll have to carry a heavy load in an offense that ranked 25th in the NFL in scoring and 24th in total yards. See where every quarterback lands in the rankings here.
2024 Drake Maye Fantasy football projection
The model has also released its ranking for Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye. While Daniels and Williams are locks to be picked in most Fantasy football 2024 drafts, owners are waiting for more information on the No. 3 overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft. Maye is battling with Jacoby Brissett and fellow rookie Joe Milton to be the Week 1 starter for the Patriots.
Even if Maye doesn’t start the opener against the Bengals, he could still be worth a late-round pick. The Patriots are expected to struggle this season and could find themselves playing from behind. Maye threw for more than 8,000 yards in just two full seasons at UNC, so the upside is intriguing for players looking for 2024 Fantasy football deep sleepers. See full Fantasy football QB tiers here.
