A mass casualty event is being reported at a Texas Mall – with a vehicle driving inside the building and possible shots.
Law enforcement have descended on Killeen Mall in Killeen, Texas amid the active shooter situation on Saturday evening.
“It was terrifying. We heard shots, and everyone just started running,” a person inside the mall reportedly said.
The mall has been placed into lockdown while security secure the area and await for first responders to arrive.
On Friday, more than 200 people were also injured when the man driving a BMW plowed into holiday shoppers in the city of Magdeburg.
Police arrested the driver, a 50-year-old Saudi doctor, at the scene and are working to determine what motivated a man to drive a car into the crowd.
Local media said the suspect was named Taleb A, a psychiatry and psychotherapy specialist who has lived in Germany since 2006.
The death toll has now risen to five, and authorities believe he acted alone but questions remain about the motive behind the car ramming.
