EastEnders legend Linda Henry has made an unexpected appearance on social media after a day out with a soap icon.
The Shirley Carter actress joined award-winning Coronation Street writer Jonathan Harvey for a spot of lunch this weekend, with the pair ‘putting the world to rights’.
Alongside a selfie of them both, and a shot of them sitting at a table in a London restaurant, Jonathan wrote that he ‘loves this woman’ in a post on Twitter/X.
Despite working on different soaps, Linda and Jonathan previously worked together on a film called Beautiful Thing, which was written by Jonathan and was released in 1996.
In the romantic comedy, which follows two gay teenagers that live next door to each other on a council estate in Thamesmead, London, Linda starred as single mother Sandra.
The film also featured fellow EastEnders star Tameka Empson, who plays Kim Fox in the BBC soap.
Fans were quick to respond to the social media post, begging Jonathan to tell Linda how much they wanted to see her back on screens.
Linda was last seen as Shirley Carter on December 29, 2022, when the character departed the square following the disappearance of son Mick Carter (Danny Dyer).
Though Linda is taking an extended break, fans are still in the dark about when Shirley will be back on the Square.
Jonathan recently announced his departure from Coronation Street on Twitter/X, before the airing of his penultimate episode.

He revealed that after 20 years of hard work, he ‘wanted a break’, and stepped back from his role in April of this year.
