The Sheriff’s Office is investigating after San Diego police shot a suspect in the Stockton neighborhood late Friday morning.
The shooting occurred just before 11 a.m. near 31st and K streets, said sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Fox. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the police shooting under a countywide protocol to prevent agencies from investigating shootings by their own officers.
San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesperson Jose Ysea said paramedics transported the suspect, a man, to a hospital, but Ysea did not know the man’s condition.
Authorities confirmed the man died after he was transported from the shooting scene.
